Oakland was in desperate need of an upgrade defensively at the Catcher position and an offensive upgrade at the 1B position so we went out an got Sal Perez & Billy Butler. It may have cost us an All-Star 3B but we received an adequate replacement in Moustakas and hope that the 3 combined players will make a very long lasting impact for Oakland.
Oakland is always in need of proven SP and we believe we have aquired that in Chad Billingsley! We believe he can be a huge impact player and were willing to take the chance to get him.
We believe we have made some vast improvements in these trades and were not afraid to give up some decent players to make the needed improvements for the long run.
